Privacy
snomble is a reference site. It asks for nothing about you, and there is no account to create, no newsletter and no comment form.
What is stored in your browser
When you add a name to your shortlist, the list is written into your own browser under the name namely_shortlist. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
What the server records
Like any web server, ours keeps ordinary access logs — the address requested, the time, the browser’s own description of itself and the IP address it came from. They exist to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and they are not used to build a profile of anyone.
WordPress itself may set a cookie if you log in to the administration area. Visitors who only read the site are not logged in and receive no such cookie.
Third parties
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests a file from Google and Google sees the request, including your IP address. Nothing else on the site is loaded from anyone else: there is no analytics, no advertising and no social media embedding.
Names of real people
The site lists names, not people. Every figure is an aggregate published by a statistical agency, and no page identifies, describes or refers to any individual.
